Today I’ll be teaching you how to trim and maintain a cannabis mother plant. (Video Link at end of post)
You can keep a cannabis mother plant for years and it can stay healthy if cared for properly.
I like to use 1 gallon fabric pots with coco coir to keep my mother plants in. Many people have different set ups but this is what works for me.
Mother cannabis plants need a decent amount of light but at the same time they don’t need a lot of light. I use some basic l.e.d. shop lights from Amazon and they work perfect for keeping your mother plants happy and they cover a 4 ft space which makes it more ideal than a regular grow light. Too little light and the plants will yellow and die but too much light will make it grow too fast. If you have a massive cultivation facility then obviously you want it to get big and grow fast but most of us aren’t rich commercial growers. We’re home growers that don’t need more than a handful of clones every 2 to 3 months.
Keeping a cannabis mother plant from a strain that you love is the best way to run a perpetual grow and you always know what you are going to get and can plan accordingly.
Now that you know the benefits of using a mother plant you can watch the video and see exactly how I trim my plants every couple months.
